Once, Shimpi from Shormpur village in Bihar lived a simple, ordinary life — caught between books and household chores, too shy to dream beyond her village lanes. The world outside seemed distant and almost like a fairy tale. When she first joined EVA Foundation, she was uncertain about her future and unaware of her rights. But over time, through trainings, guidance, and constant encouragement, Shimpi’s perspective changed. She began to see herself as a responsible citizen and developed a strong desire to work for her community. Slowly, she stepped into leadership by becoming part of Leadership Development Program, where she took on the challenge of uniting young girls in her village. Convincing families and overcoming doubts wasn’t easy — people questioned, “What’s the benefit?” — but Shimpi’s persistence paid off. Today, she leads a group of 14 active girls who openly discuss issues like domestic violence, women’s rights, and empowerment, while also running awareness campaigns in the community.

EVA Foundation’s support has been central to her journey. With guidance from Savita Ali Madam, Shimpi learned practical skills like how to file an FIR, and she was also encouraged to continue her education. Even financial help came her way for college and competitive exam forms, which strengthened her determination. Now preparing for higher studies and the BSSC exam, Shimpi also receives nominal monetary support as a — something that allows her to support her own expenses and gives her a deep sense of independence. She proudly calls Savita Madam her role model, for always inspiring her to speak up and lead with courage. For Shimpi, EVA Foundation is not just an organization but a companion in change — one that stays rooted in villages and brings lasting impact. Her journey shows how an ordinary village girl, with the right awareness and opportunities, can not only transform her own life but also become a beacon of hope for others.
