“Now I can earn for myself… and stitch my dreams with my own hands.”
These are the words of Lakshmi, who was once just an ordinary student but today stands as an inspiring example of self-reliance. Lakshmi, a resident of Sitamadi village in Muzaffarpur district and currently a 12th-grade student, found a turning point in her life when her mother introduced her to the “Zubeda Training Centre” run by EVA Foundation. Until then, sewing and fashion design were things far away from her world—something she had only heard about in books. But her curiosity to learn and eagerness to try something new brought her to the training centre, opening doors to opportunities she had never imagined.

Over the course of four months, Lakshmi’s journey transformed completely. She not only learned to operate a sewing machine but also mastered practical and modern skills like cutting fabric, designing, taking measurements, and finishing garments. What began with hesitation soon turned into confidence. Today, alongside her studies, she stitches clothes and earns a modest income, contributing to household expenses and even making her own financial decisions. Her dream is to become a fashion designer, and this training has already given that dream both direction and shape. Lakshmi’s story is not just her own—it reflects the strength of hundreds of rural girls who, when given the right opportunity and guidance, have the power to change their lives. The “Zubeda Training Centre” is not merely a course, but truly a school of self-reliance, nurturing confidence and identity in young women like Lakshmi.
