Savita Ali – Managing Trustee, Eva Foundation

Savita Ali is a distinguished advocate at the Patna High Court, a feminist, and a lifelong human rights activist. With over 15 years of experience in the legal and social justice sectors, she has dedicated her life to advancing the rights of Dalit, Scheduled Caste (SC), and minority women in Bihar. She is the Founder and Managing Trustee of Eva Foundation, a non-profit organization working at the grassroots level to promote legal empowerment, education, mental health, and livelihood opportunities for marginalized women and girls.

Born in Naraina village, Panipat (Haryana), Savita Ali’s early life was shaped by structural gender and caste-based inequalities. Her educational path, supported by her mother against societal expectations, eventually led her to law and social work. Her turning point came while working with the National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights (NCDHR), where she directly engaged with sanitation workers and manual scavengers—an experience that ignited her commitment to justice and equality.

Savita holds degrees in Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), and a Master of Social Work (MSW), along with a specialization in Human Rights Studies. Her leadership of Eva Foundation is characterized by a multi-pronged approach to empowerment through programs like the Bihar Legal Network (BLN), Parwaz Women Network, and Jubaida Skill Learning Centres.

Though formal award listings are not specified, her contributions include filing Public Interest Litigations (PILs) on prisoners’ rights, building sustainable grassroots legal infrastructure, and mentoring a generation of women leaders and advocates. Her work has directly impacted hundreds of communities across Bihar.

Justice is not just about laws; it is about ensuring dignity, equality, and empowerment for the most marginalized.”
Savita Ali

Her journey continues to inspire movements for intersectional justice, where law and community power work hand-in-hand to build an inclusive, dignified future for all.
