Shabina Jamal is a resident of Phulwari Sharif Patna. Shabina’s father is a laborer. She has four sisters, and family is very poor.

She wanted to do something to support her family. Since Shabina matric pass, she heard about a vocational training center, who is training young girls in sewing. She went to enquire about the training and get admission in Zubeida Sewing center. During the three months sewing training, Shabina learnt about nuances of stitching and basic cutting. She is one of the most promising girls at the center, and very hardworking, does her job very honestly.
After the completion of training, she managed to buy a sewing machine. With this sewing skill, she started stitching on her own. Slowly she started getting customers from the nearby households. Now she has good customer base and earns money and support her family.
She never regrets that she does not have a brother, she takes care of her family like a boy, and has overcome gender discrimination to some extent and has changed her family’s thinking that a girl can do anything.
During the Covid 19 and lockdown, Shabina stitched around 2000 masks of Eva Foundation which was distributed free of cost in Kachahri Mohalla, Sangi Masjid, Isopur, Nala, Naharpura Phulwari area.
Shabina is still doing BA, along with sewing, and runs her household expenses too. Shabina is volunteer of Eva Foundation and work in the community to help needy people.
