Building Women Leaders for Social Change and Justice

Across India, women and adolescent girls from Dalit, SC, ST, and minority communities often face multiple layers of marginalization. This initiative responds to that reality by working directly with young women to build leadership, raise consciousness, and enable grassroots-level change. Through a unique combination of education, legal empowerment, and skill-building, it nurtures young women who not only rise above systemic challenges but also emerge as catalysts of transformation in their own communities.

Our Mission

To create safe, supportive, and inclusive spaces where women and girls can explore their potential, articulate their voices, and develop the skills needed to lead. We strive to dismantle structures of inequality by equipping young women with the tools and confidence to claim their rights and shape a more just society.

Leadership Development

At the heart of the initiative is the formation of peer-led groups that function as nurturing grounds for leadership. These spaces are led by young women and are instrumental in encouraging dialogue, mutual learning, and collective problem-solving. Groups like Shahjadi and Jhansi ki Rani have engaged girls aged 15 to 25 in discussions around education, gender equality, and personal rights.

Through this model, leaders such as Sudha Kumari, Muskaan Khatoon, and Gulista Praveen have emerged as powerful examples of courage and change, motivating others to find their voices and take action.

Legal Awareness

Knowing one's rights is a fundamental step toward empowerment. This initiative places strong emphasis on equipping women with critical legal knowledge to help them navigate and challenge oppressive systems. Sessions cover the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, Fundamental Rights under the Constitution, Reproductive Rights under the MTP Act, and the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.

  • Regular meetings with parents and guardians build understanding and support systems for girls to pursue education and leadership without resistance.

Training & Capacity Building

Capacity-building workshops offer hands-on training in leadership, community engagement, advocacy, and public communication. These sessions also address sensitive yet crucial issues such as mental health, gender-based violence, and personal well-being.

  • In Sitamarhi, participants engaged in dialogues around mental health, reproductive health, and the legal systems designed to protect women.

Community Engagement

Transformation doesn’t happen in isolation. The initiative fosters deep community engagement by encouraging dialogue between women, adolescent girls, and their families. These engagements spark wider conversations on peace, justice, and education as collective values.

  • Educational interventions like the Ambedkar Pathshaala have highlighted the transformative power of learning, especially for first-generation learners.

Our Vision

We imagine a world where women from every walk of life—especially those who have long been excluded—are at the forefront of social, legal, and cultural change. By investing in leadership, awareness, and solidarity, this initiative aims to nurture a generation of resilient, thoughtful, and fearless women leaders who will not only claim their rightful place but also lift others as they rise.
