Patna City, Patna: On 14 May 2020, ration materials were distributed among the needy people of Patna City Mogalpura by Eva Foundation Patna. Ration Kits were given to 100 families which were already identified by Eva Foundation’s local volunteers. Along with Ration Kits, leaflets and helpline numbers related to Covid-19 were also given to families which has information on precautions related to Covid-19.

A medical professional from IGIMS Patna was also present on the occasion, who gave information about Covid-19 to the beneficiaries and suggested measures to be cautious of it. Ibrar Raza, a member of the Eva Foundation, took charge of the distribution and took special care of maintaining social distancing during the distribution.

Each family was given a “Ration Kit” consisting of 13items. Ration kit: 10 kg flour, 10 kg rice, 1 kg pulses, 2kg oil, 1 kg gram, 1 kg chura, 1 kg sugar, 1 kg salt, 2.5 grams dates, 100 grams turmeric, 100 grams coriander, 100 grams chilli and 1 sanitary packet.

It may be noted that Eva Foundation has identified 1000needy families of Patna who are in urgent need of ration support to family. These lists of families have been identified from Patna City Mogalpura, Phulwari Sharif Ishopur Slum, Gaus Tola, Gobanpura Mahadalit Dalit Tola and Bailey Road Khajpura in Patna. Most of the daily wage families live in these settlements and the increase in lock down has led to the unemployment and is facing a lot of difficulties in running the family. Among them, there are many families who do not even have ration cards and are not getting government benefits.

Eva Foundation Director Savita Ali has said that till now we have reached the aid of ration kits to 500 families in the identified areas of Patna and hope to meet the target of 1000 families soon with the help likeminded people.
